Junior Specialist

About the Role

This role is for our client in the transportation sector. The Junior Specialist will work in a dynamic environment, supporting the long-term maintenance and enterprise integration of the NCDOT Hydrography Layer, a critical GIS dataset. The successful candidate will have advanced skills and education in enterprise linear referencing and data maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support data migration, bulk and individual updates, QA/QC, cartography, and Linear Referencing System (LRS) tasks.
• Maintain accurate, stable, and reliable management of the Hydrography Layer within the enterprise environment.
• Collaborate with the NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) GIS Team to ensure seamless integration of the dataset.
• Develop and implement effective solutions to complex data management challenges.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in GIS data management.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise GIS datasets.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience in enterprise linear referencing and data maintenance.
• Advanced skills and education in ESRI Suite of Software, including ArcGIS and ArcMap.
• Strong understanding of Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and data migration processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.

Tools & Technologies

• ESRI Suite of Software, including ArcGIS and ArcMap.
• Linear Referencing Systems (LRS).
• Data migration tools and processes.
• Cartography and GIS data management software.

Work Schedule & Duration

• Contract length: 1 year.
• Work arrangement: Onsite.
• Specific onsite requirements: Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with the NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) GIS Team.

The interview process will typically include an initial screening followed by a technical interview via webcam.
