About the Role
This role is for our client in the transportation sector. The Junior Specialist will work in a dynamic environment, supporting the long-term maintenance and enterprise integration of the NCDOT Hydrography Layer, a critical GIS dataset. The successful candidate will have advanced skills and education in enterprise linear referencing and data maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support data migration, bulk and individual updates, QA/QC, cartography, and Linear Referencing System (LRS) tasks.
- Maintain accurate, stable, and reliable management of the Hydrography Layer within the enterprise environment.
- Collaborate with the NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) GIS Team to ensure seamless integration of the dataset.
- Develop and implement effective solutions to complex data management challenges.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in GIS data management.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise GIS datasets.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience in enterprise linear referencing and data maintenance.
- Advanced skills and education in ESRI Suite of Software, including ArcGIS and ArcMap.
- Strong understanding of Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and data migration processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
Tools & Technologies
- ESRI Suite of Software, including ArcGIS and ArcMap.
- Linear Referencing Systems (LRS).
- Data migration tools and processes.
- Cartography and GIS data management software.
Work Schedule & Duration
- Contract length: 1 year.
- Work arrangement: Onsite.
- Specific onsite requirements: Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with the NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) GIS Team.
