About the Role

This role is for our client in the data analysis sector. The Senior Oracle SQL Data Analyst will work under limited supervision to develop, maintain, and support SQL solutions for operational reporting, research, executive decision-making, legislative reporting, and strategic initiatives. The position requires on-site interviews only, and the candidate must come on-site day one for orientation and equipment pick-up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
  • Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases.
  • Analyze business requirements and determine the appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules needed to answer complex business questions.
  • Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, grants, and executive requests.
  • Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, scheduled database jobs, and recurring data refreshes.
  • Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
  • Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code.
  • Support recurring operational reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), legislative reporting, and research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and communicate analytical findings.
  • Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL development against transactional databases (5 years of experience).
  • Writing complex SQL (joins, CTEs, subqueries, CASE, aggregate and analytic functions) (5 years of experience).
  • Normalizing and denormalizing data for reporting and analysis.
  • Understanding of database design principles and data modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Tools & Technologies

  • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Tableau.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).

Work Schedule & Duration

  • Contract length: 11 months.
  • Work arrangement: On-site only.
  • Specific onsite requirements: On-site interviews only, and the candidate must come on-site day one for orientation and equipment pick-up.
