About the Role
This role is for our client in the IT sector, specifically at Clemson University. The Database Administrator - Project Lead will be responsible for managing and maintaining the database systems, ensuring data integrity and security. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. The role will involve working closely with the development team to design, implement, and maintain database solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of database management systems, data modeling, and data analysis. They will also have experience with database administration tools and technologies, such as SQL, Oracle, and database design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain database solutions to meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, entity relationship diagrams, and database schema.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the development team to design, implement, and test database solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on database systems and applications.
- Monitor database performance and optimize database queries and indexes.
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in database management.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on database design and implementation.
- Develop and maintain database security policies and procedures.
