About the Role

This role is for our client in the mainframe sector. The ideal candidate will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with various teams to ensure the smooth operation of mainframe systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of new technologies, improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the mainframe infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement mainframe solutions using CICS, DB2, Elixir, Endevor, IMS, and JCL.
  • Provide configuration management/release management support and guidance for Endevor software.
  • Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries to improve software performance and cost savings.
  • Administer CICS, troubleshoot issues, and debug problems in collaboration with application developers and personnel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of mainframe systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest mainframe technologies and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for mainframe systems.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality.
  • Work closely with the development team to identify and prioritize mainframe-related tasks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of Z/OS operating system and its interrelationships and functionality.
  • 7+ years of experience providing configuration management/release management support and guidance for Endevor software.
  • 7+ years of experience with SQL (Structured Query Language) programming language and techniques.
  • 7+ years of experience with tools and utilities to support DB2.
  • Ability to evaluate complex SQL queries and recommend suggestions for better software performance and cost savings.

Work Schedule & Duration
