Tableau Administrator

About the Role

Our Client is seeking a skilled Tableau Administrator to support its critical child welfare reporting and analytics platform. In this role, you will manage Tableau Cloud environments, ensuring secure, reliable access for over 2,000 social workers and case managers. You will collaborate with IT and data teams to maintain data pipelines, troubleshoot performance issues, and provide user support across both onsite and remote settings. Your work will directly impact the agency’s ability to deliver timely, accurate insights that support child safety and permanency decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Tableau Cloud sites, projects, users, groups, permissions, and security across development, test, and production environments.
• Monitor platform health, schedule and troubleshoot extract refreshes, subscriptions, and scheduled jobs.
• Diagnose and resolve Tableau performance, connectivity, and reporting issues for end users.
• Provide incident management and escalation support for critical reporting outages.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to support Azure SQL Database and MuleSoft Runtime Fabric integrations impacting Tableau dashboards.
• Develop and maintain documentation for Tableau administration processes, security policies, and troubleshooting guides.
• Assist in capacity planning, performance tuning, and platform upgrades to meet evolving data governance requirements.
• Conduct user training sessions and create knowledge base articles to empower analysts and business users.
• Participate in on‑site support activities and remote troubleshooting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards for sensitive child welfare data.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience administering Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server environments.
• Strong proficiency in managing user access, permissions, and security groups within Tableau.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure SQL Database administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with MuleSoft Runtime Fabric (RTF) and its integration with data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance best practices.
• Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep proficiency for data preparation and dashboard development.

Work Schedule & Duration

• Contract length: 12 months (Start: November 2 2026 – End: October 30 2027)
• Hybrid work arrangement: onsite support at 505 Hudson Street, Hartford, Connecticut, and remote support as needed.
• Onsite presence required for critical incidents and periodic team meetings.

Interview Process

The interview process typically includes an initial phone screening with a recruiter, followed by a technical interview focused on Tableau administration and data platform troubleshooting. Candidates may also participate in a panel interview with the IT services team and a final discussion with the hiring manager to assess cultural fit and project alignment.
