About the Role
This role is for our client in the finance sector, specifically within the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Investment Decision Support (IDS) team. The successful candidate will work closely with investment programs to understand their business data and decision support requirements, develop tools to extract valuable and timely information, and continuously improve processes and systems to ensure high levels of data integrity and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Investment stakeholders to document current-state processes, systems, and data flows, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct interviews and working sessions to capture business needs and translate them into clear requirements for the new data platform.
- Elicit, document, and manage business and technical requirements to support platform design and implementation.
- Support the definition of future-state workflows and operating models aligned with the new investment data platform.
- Develop a strong understanding of existing investment systems and data architecture, including integration points and dependencies.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation including current-state assessments, future-state designs, and data flow diagrams.
- Assist with data mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities during platform implementation.
- Develop and execute testing strategies, including user acceptance testing, to ensure successful delivery of platform capabilities.
- Support change management and transition activities to ensure adoption of new processes and systems.
- Provide ongoing support through data analysis, reporting, and process refinement as the platform evolves.

- Experience with business systems analysis, data management, and process improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
