About the Role
This role is for our client in the software development sector. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid environment, requiring occasional in-person visits to the office. The Program Manager will be responsible for directing, controlling, administering, and regulating a software re-write project based on .NET technology. The primary goal is to drive the entire software re-write from start to finish and ensure the final product meets business, technical, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design project plans that identify needs and define major tasks and milestones based on scope, resources, budget, and personnel.
- Develop, adjust, and revise estimates in planning, analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
- Manage risk and scope to define, monitor, and control scope, budget, and timelines, especially in high-risk modernization scenarios.
- Maintain strong interpersonal skills to keep sponsors, developers, operations, and end-users aligned and informed of program management metrics.
- Notify team leaders of project timelines, milestones, phases, work requests, target dates, and approved executable work packages.
- Lead teams across development, operations, security, and business needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet business requirements.
- Develop and implement project management methodologies and approaches to incorporate sufficient collaboration, transparency, and feedback loops.
- Ensure proper project management processes are followed.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7-8 years of relevant experience in project management, software development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, refactoring, re-architecting, or rebuilding strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with project and portfolio management tools like Clarity PPM, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and other off-the-shelf operational systems.
- At least one project management license, such as PMP or PMI_ACP.
- 4-year college degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with a focus on technology.
